Friends from the United Kingdom

Friends of Mulanje Orphans from the United Kingdom, decided to come to Malawi and visit some of the beautiful places in Malawi and also taking a look at what is happening at FOMO.

Find out more on how their stay was, how they noticed some changes and the developments that are happening.

Food sends the whole Family to the hospital

A certain family from Sazola village was admitted at Mulanje district Hospital for drinking sweet beer ‘thobwa’.

Speaking with Ulemu Moffat who is the neighbor of the family said that he noticed the family vomiting while he was on his way to the farm, what was really strange was that everyone in the family was doing so, the family members affected was the father John Chisu 32, mother 29,and their children Chikondi, yankho and Mayamiko.

According to the reports, this was so because the family used maize flour that still had chemicals. In an interview with the village chief warned all the venders never to sell food that might harm the people and that they should make sure to check their products before selling them to the people, he added that “even though hunger is everywhere, everyone should avoid taking in unknown food that could affect their health”.

Friends from Italy

Friends from Italy paid a visit to Malawi, in their short trip they have experience many different things and they would like to share it with us.

And this is how the talk went.

Junior certificate results

Malawi national examination board junior certificate results are out.

At FOMO INDEPENDENT SECONDARY SCHOOL, out of 61 students who sat down for the exams, 60 managed to pass. Speaking to the principle of the school, Mr. Butao said that, it is a good thing that many managed to pass as we were expecting all of them to pass the examination this year, and hopefully next year we will reach a 100% pass rate.

Classes have already started this term, and places are still available at the school.
